I have used microsoft word many times as a student, more so when I was in middle school than any other time. I feel I am well versed in knowing all the different aspects of MS Word, and could help others if necessary. I actually prefer google docs over MS Word or any other word processing software. This is because with canvas, I find it easier to turn in things from docs, and it doesn't take up storage on my laptop that way.
The standard that is most important to me would be leader. I chose this because as a child, I was always wanting to learn how to become a better leader and would take any chance I could to be in charge. This standard is when the adult in charge gives students chances to be in charge of certain situations in order to help them get better at their leadership skills. It is important for K-12 educators to use this so that kids can better understand how to be in control of things when they get older.
I believe that digital native is the way of our world now, but don't like the idea of it. This is when a child grows up around technology and knows how do use it from an early age. I do notice that my older teachers use technology a lot less than my younger ones, because they did not grow up with it. I prefer using technology for my school work, but I do know how to take hand written notes well too because of some of the teachers i have had over the years. My future students would definitely be using technology for practically anything they do.
I think badges are cool when you are a young child, but not once you hit middle school. Badges make everyone feel included since usually everyone gets one, but once middle school comes, people normally want more than a badge. I have earned a badge, in middle school for being student of the month at my school. I would not share that specific one because it was specific to me, but any of the others I would because it makes others feel good.
